Communication is at it’s best when you are able to connect with the needs of other people. If we don’t change our perspective and push through our own agenda we definitely increase the chances of offending or even alienating the people we are attempting to communicate with.

Try to instantly put yourself in the other persons shoes. See things from their point of view. We have to become more open to the thoughts, experiences, emotions, and motives of the other person. What is their perspective?

This not only helps us propose ideas to them in an interesting manner but it keeps them engaged in our conversation. You appeal to the other person by putting their needs ahead of our own! How can you integrate their wishes into your suggestion? Consider their needs first and I guarantee your influence will have a greater positive impact on their life!
